A member asked:

My daughter had encephalitis.cause for this is group a streptococcus.aso test showed 908 lu/ml.whether it could be pandas syndrome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PANDAS syndrome: This rare pediatric condition producing neuropsychiatric symptoms in association with group a beta-strep infections has been well described, except that causality does not seem to have been proven. Whether your daughter's encephalitis was due to gabs infection is questionable, but a good pediatric infectious diseases expert may help explain this for you. Complex. Hope she is better soon.
