If i still have racing thoughts after taking normal dose of ativan, do i need to take more? not more than prescribed though

Maybe: Ativan is a sedative like Valium which calms the mind and feelings of anxiety. It is dose related. So sometimes a higher dose is needed, but with caution. It is habit forming. Racing thoughts can be from anxiety but other things like bipolar or even some Meds. Check it out with your doctor. Ativan treats symptoms. It is not a long term fix. But can be a big help on your way to finding one.
