Eval by a derm: I recommend having this evaluated by a dermatologist. Based on your description it's unclear if this is on the ear or on the scalp, but this sounds like it could be a cyst. If it's on the scalp, it's possible that it can be a swollen lymph node. It also depends on how long you had this. Rarely, these nodules can be a type of tumor. If it is persistent then I'd recommend having it evaluated.
