No: It takes time for the inflammation to resolve.

Takes time: Gingivitis is an infection (bacteria) causing inflammation. Remove the bacteria tissues begin to heal. Failure to keep bacteria from reforming (as in failure to floss) allows disease to recur. Have your teeth professionally cleaned. Follow Dentist's/Hygienist's oral hygiene instructions to the letter. Brush 2x/day for 2 full minutes. Brush or Water-Pik daily. To cure this disease requires work.

See below: See your dentist for a definitive answer for your particular situation. There are many variables that contribute to periodontal disease, excellent home care with the use of a soft toothbrush, brushing at a 45 degree angle between the tooth and gum, the proper use of dental floss and a tongue scraper would be part of your daily routine. Avoid smoking and see your dentist or hygienist .
