I'm on .25 mg xanax daily. my doctor said at this dose an occasional beer was safe but everything i've heard says otherwise. is it really okay?

Why risk it: I generally advise against combining this class of medication with alcohol as its sedating effects will be compounded. Someone may tolerate this combination, but why risk it? Additionally, xanax is not a great anxiety medication for daily use, as its effects are very short lived, has a high addiction potential, and can ultimately result in even greater anxiety.
