Are steroids and antibiotics always needed for a copd. exacerbation? some people always take them, where as nebulizer helps me.

Not always. : Steroids usually are sufficient. Sometimes the COPD attack will resolve on its own and other times it will need meds to go away. Antibiotics are used when there is significant worsening of COPD as well increasing purulence of the mucous.
