Symptomatic care: You can try removing the hair if it is ingrown and allowing any pus to drain. This may be all that you need to do. If the redness or pus persists you may need an antibiotic. You could start with a topical generic triple antibiotic lotion. If that doesn't work then you may need a course of oral antibiotics.
