A member asked:

Can you have idiopathic pulmonary hypertension with normal blood oxygen levels? does the level of oxygen in your blood correlate to the degree of ph?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, no: The problem in primary pulmonary hypertension is getting blood through the lungs, not oxygenating it. This causes all kinds of misunderstanding. Since pO2 is easy to measure and pulmonary vascular resistance / blood pressure isn't, it's easy to forget how sick these folks are.
