Depends on type.: Most stents nowadays do not require antibiotic prophylaxis (ie, antibiotics before dental work). Stents epithelialize (get covered with cells) in about 1-2 years, but some stents are designed with coatings to prevent that. Talk to the Cardiologist / Interventionalist who put the stent in place to get a better answer. You should have a card w/ info on the stent mfr & type, which will help determine
