If a 2nd mandibular molar needs to be extracted, can the unerupted wisdom tooth next to it be left in?

Possibly: If your dentist feels the wisdom tooth is well formed and strong enough to be part of a bridge replacing the second molar, it might be worth keeping. Usually however this is not the case and it should be extracted. A second molar implant should then be placed
