A member asked:

I am 8 wks pregnant and have had a colorectal fistula for a few months. it drains regularly and occasionally bleeds. how might this impact delivery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

High bacterial loads: Anytime there is a fistula involving the colon, bacterial loads are increased in the vaginal area. UTI"S become more common and your OB MD will be more vigilant about monitoring your pregnancy and quickly treating any infections that arise.
