Yes, maybe longer: If infected with chlamydia trachomatis, a woman typically shows symptoms of vaginal discharge within 1-3 weeks. BUT, over 50% of women do not experience ANY symptoms. This is why the bacteria can be harbored in your system for months/years doing damage, especially Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. This can be a cause of infertility. The only way you would know you have it is getting tested. Stay well!
