No risk, no worry: UTIs come from a person's own bacteria, the ones you carry naturally in your intestines and sometimes in the genital area. You don't catch them by contact with contaminated water. Same with STDs: no risk there from public toilets, for example. Don't worry about this.

There is a risk: There is always a risk of bacteria spreading from your bowel to your urinary tract. Proper hygiene such as wiping front to back are important in eliminating these risks. Contamination does increase your risk of a UTI
