Body building/ Whey: Many of the powders/supplements contain whey as the source of extra protein as a substrate for muscle and body building. Generally they are safe. If a person doesn't exercise appropriately, it can be just a source of extra calories. So taking extra whey does not mean you will build muscle alone. Vegan/vegetarian options exist, with a soy base. I have seen new allergic reactions to whey as well.
