Headache: A headache may give you that sensation but the veins or scalp arteries are usually not swollen. If your headache isn't too severe and improves after taking Tylenol, it is probably a muscle contraction tension headache. If the headache is excruciating or if you're experiencing frequent headaches, go to the hospital emergency room for prompt evaluation, appropriate tests and/or referral to a neurolo
