Ask your doctor: If anything, I would expect your symptoms to be improved after getting the injection. I don't see any specific reason why you couldn't go back to work right away. The physician performing the injection will be able to advise you properly on things to look out for immediately following the procedure

Cortisone: The cortisone injection will not take away your pain instantly. The initial pain relief is because of the local anaesthetic mixed with the cortisone which wears off in 3-4 hours. the effect full of cortisone may take more than a week. if you don't have pain then you can get back to work. but if pain is the restricting factor then rest for few days and see how things work for you.

Not a problem: As far as the procured is concerned it would not be any more of a problem than prior to to the injection. It may take a few days for the medicine to work but overall you should get better over time.

No issues: There shouldn't be any issues going to work after a cortisone injection in your hip joint. Even though it's an invasive and slightly painful procedure there's no reason to rest the joint afterwards. If you are feeling uncomfortable then you should rest at home but otherwise you should be fine.

Treat the cause?: There should be no problem in continuing your normal activities after a cortisone injection. However, I'm wondering if the act of climbing in and out of your truck is in part the cause for your hip pain? If it is and you don't change anything about the way you're doing that - you might find the cortisone injection doesn't work the way you want it to.
