Infectious source : Hi, SIRS is a set of criteria that, if met, indicate that there is an inflammatory process occurring in the body. If a patient meets the criteria for SIRS and there is a suspected source of infection then the patient will be in the state of sepsis, meaning the infection is causing the inflammatory condition.
