See GI doc: Hi. I'm sorry about your dad. Is the hepatitis B chronic? If he is acutely jaundiced from chronic hepatitis B, that can signal something bad going on in the liver, such as cirrhosis or liver cancer, both of which hepatitis B can cause. I think he should see a GI doc for tests and liver imaging. The diabetes is unlikely to be related to the hepatitis B and jaundice, but could be. Good luck to him!
