Increase height @ 40: If there is no tumor, what other conditions/issues would cause person (I'm 40) to increase secretion of growth hormone & cause height to grow @ my age? ANS: the only reason I know of for an increase in height at your age is new shoes or bad height measurement or someone playing a trick on you. Please get more details and can do 2nd opinion.

Once the: skeletal growth plates fuse in late adolescence, it is no longer possible to have any appreciable height growth. So, excessive growth hormone in adults causes bone thickening rather than bone lengthening(acromegaly).

Not growth hormone?: maybe the cause of your growth is not growth hormone. However, this is not a simple question or issue. I recommend you review your problems with your primary care doctor and seek out a specialist if you cannot find an answer that satisfies you.
