A member asked:

My 18 mo old was put on iron syrup for being mildly low on iron. she spits it out. can i do a kids multivitamin with iron?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely to help: There is so little iron in regular multivitamins with iron that it may not help the kid who needs it most.Work with your doc on ways to get this into the kid.I find that folding it into a tablespoon of peanut butter covers the taste and smell in most cases. Others use a variety of cover products like chocolate syrup.Use would depend on your kids sensitivities/allergies/etc.
