Not likely: This sounds more like a circulatory problem, such as a blood clot, and if so, you need to be seen promptly to evaluate and reverse the cause. Your leg could be at stake! Good luck.

Didn't mean to scare you. A sensation of coldness could result from sciatic impingement, but not truly cold toes. In sciatica, the 4th and 5th toes are the ones affected. If you do heavy labor or lifting, then disc disease is a possible cause. Still, you should get a diagnosis to begin active treatment. No problem with an analgesic at any rate. If the toes are truly cold/white/blue, be seen.

Sciatica: From the description you have given it is entirely possible that you have sciatica. This inflammation of the sciatic nerve. It usually gets trapped coming through the gluteus muscle. Sometimes I have seen the pain lessen by using an elliptical trainer. Anti-inflamatories can also help relieve the pain.

Although sciatica or possibly pseudosciatica could cause coldness in the extremity (or at least subjective sensation of coldness), it nonetheless seems to me that more dangerous causes need to be excluded before an exercise regimen is attempted.
