Age 60 & heavy flow: If indeed you are 60 years of age. removing the Mirena IUD was sorely needed. Moreover, heavy bleeding post Mirena at any age raises the question of abnormal endometrial proliferation. It would be a good idea for your GYN MD to take an endometrial sampling (biopsy) to rule out endometrial hyperplasia which can lead to endometrial/uterine cancer.
