Depends where on gum: and how large. smaller white spots can some times occur on any part of the gum. In all likelyhood this will resolve on it's own. Worse case scenario, this could be a tooth that is malpositioned and coming through at that spot. But that would be unusual for a 3.5 month infant. I would make sure there are no other white spots in the mouth that could be a sign of a yeast infection or thrush.

Could be tooth: If the unerupted tooth is positioned forward, and causing the overlying bone to bulge slightly, the gum tissue could blanch. Ask our Pediatrician to take a look at your child's next well-baby visit. Also, a wonderful 1st b'day present is to start your child seeing a pediatric dental specialist, a Pedodontist, for regular dental visits.
