A member asked:

My baby was born left hand on face. she can move easily hand, slightly elbow & shoulder. any pain while moving but she doesn't lift hand by herself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Brachial nerve palsy: I recommend seeing a doctor for a history and physical exam. Perhaps the baby has a brachial plexus nerve palsy (stretch injury) where the nerves were stretched at the neck/shoulder area during birth. It is also called Erb's palsy. Daily physical therapy exercises can sometimes help recover or help recover faster.
