My left arm has started paining from the elbow up to the shoulder and every now and then it moves to my thumb. could this be the start of a heart attack. ?

Nerve/Tendonitis: This is probably due to some activity that resulted in a strain. I would have an EKG , check with your family physician.

Wrong direction: Angina travels down the arm and not up the arm. See your family doctor but not likely heart disease
