Abnormal liver tests: Occasionally stones in the common bile duct cause abdominal pain and abnormal liver function testing. Pancreatitis or intestinal adhesions are other causes of recurrent abdominal pain, but adhesions don't affect the liver as a rule.A rarer cause is porphyria. I assume you have been evaluated by both a gastroenterologist and an abdominal surgeon.
