Soft and squishy: Your submandibular glands are soft and squishy and live just beneath the edge of your jaw line. Many patients are able to feel their own glands, and Doctors will try to palpate the glands when there is a sore throat, or neck pain. Sometimes they can be swollen, tender, or inflamed when you have a flu, a common cold, or may be fighting off a minor illness. Do not be alarmed.

It's Likely : you are feeling some lymph nodes. If they're not enlarged or tender they're probably normal.
