Lymph node: What you are describing could be an inflamed submental lymph node. Lymph nodes can be painful if you have an infection. Infections from the lower lip, floor of the mouth, teeth, salivary gland, tip of the tongue and the skin of the cheeks all can affect the submental lymph node. I suggest seeing your doctor to find out where the infection is coming from.
