Evaluation: There a different causes of cysts on sonogram. They can arise from the Fallopian tube or ovary. The size cyst you describe is small and common in someone your age. You should follow up with a sono in the next 2-3 months of monitor for resolution or change. If it becomes symptomatic, grows significantly, or changes in appearance, you could undergo a laparoscopic procedure to remove the cyst.
