Why do i continue to have an ovarian cyst with a mirena (levonorgestrel) iud in place?

Not connected: The Mirena (levonorgestrel) keeps you from getting pregnant, but has no effect on whether or not you have cysts on your ovary - the two are entirely independent of one another.
