Yo probably can: Severe tooth decay > abscess (severe infection). You need immediate professional help. OTCs will not work. A Physician will only direct you to a Dentist. See a Dentist yesterday rather than tomorrow.

It's possible: If you have a really deep cavity you may very well be seeing the inside of your tooth. Nevertheless, take OTC pain meds to help alleviate your discomfort, and please see a dentist ASAP to treat that rotten tooth. There is absolutely nothing you can do yourself to solve your problem.
