A member asked:

I believe my two year old ate an ibuprofen pill that is 200 mg is she going to be okay. she seems fine what should i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

She will be ok: Standard dose of ibuprofen for a child between 24 and 35 pounds is 100 mg. This is safe to take up to 4 times a day, so she has had a double dose with 200 mg, and should be limited to 2 more doses of 100 today if she is ill or has a fever. She may complain of a stomach ache, but unlikely with one dose only. Keeping meds out of reach of children this age can be a challenge, but prevention is key
