Not likely: You will likely not need to take Advil for than two weeks. That much will not do harm, as long as you do not exceed the daily recommended dose. Wish you good health!

Shingles pain.: If you only need it for a week or so, which would be the hopeful situation with shingles, then you should suffer no ill effects in the long term. Trouble may arise should you take Advil every day for several weeks to months.
