Virus? Call doctor.: Pleurisy (inflammation around but not in the lung, with breathing pain) is due to viruses, which do not respond to any antibiotic. Your doc probably prescribed cefdinir as a precaution, and it may not help. Even if your pleurisy is bacterial, probably it will take several days for the antibiotic to improve symptoms. Sounds like you need better pain control meds. Discuss all this with your doctor.
