A member asked:

Is it possible for a scar to be red permanently? and can any one explain it to me what causes the redness of the scar? and how can we treat it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Scar redness: The new tissue after an injury is thinner, vascular and has more redness than the normal surrounding skin. In time the new skin thickens and becomes less red.
