Yes, if done wrong.: If your skin color is dark, you will need a professional evaluation to determine the correct type of laser to use, and the proper settings. If you have concern regarding permanent damage, I would avoid "hair removal mills". Get more than one consultation to be certain you trust your provider.

If done wrong.: I recommend that you consult with a facial plastic surgeon, plastic surgeon, or dermatologist. Make sure that the physician is the one evaluating the color of your skin and the selection of the laser. If the physician is not doing the procedure, make sure that he is always present while you are being treated. Also make sure that he is available after hours for any complications. Hope this helps.
