Mgt: I would advise being seen by your PCP, and having an assessment to rule out meningitis, encephalitis. Is it difficulty for him to touch his chin to his chest? The soreness may be secondary to inflammation and flu like symptoms. Has he had a flu vaccination this season? In either case, I would suggest monitoring his fever and reporting these findings to your physician.
