Will an abdominal ultrasound reveal cancer that has spread throughout the abdomen?

US is good choice: If the cancer is located within the liver, pancreas, kidneys, spleen, or lymph nodes around the aorta, then yes, an ultrasound is likely to find these. In a young patient, ultrasound is recommended instead of CT because of the lack of ionizing radiation. Follow your doctor's recommendations, especially if you are anxious and find yourself overly worried about cancer which is rare at your age.
