I just got a abdominal ultra sound. can they find bowel cancer?

NO: Ultrasound is not used to detect colon cancer. Colon cancer screening is done with "fecal occult blood tests" - checking to see if there's blood in the stool, usually part of a physical exam. Colonoscopy is recommended every 10 years in all people over 50 - earlier and more frequently if there is family history, other risk factors or worrisome clinical signs such as passing blood in the stool.

3.5 years ago, calprotectin showed 200. Then 2000. Sigmoidoscopy & small bowel PillCam clear. Calprotectin went down to 60. In 2019 it was 100. Now it's 2000 again. Does this sound more like IBD or cancer? I have an appointment but extremely scared?
