Why R U waiting.: Painful and swollen calves are symptoms not to be dealt with lightly. Burning of the toes adds more concern to the possibilities. Without knowing specifics of your medical history, etc., I think you should consider seeking medical attention sooner than later. Anytime there is the slightest indication of phlebitis or worse, action should be taken, and soon.

Be seen: I would certainly recommend you be seen and thoroughly evaluated. There are multiple potential causes including possible cardiac causes. A detailed exam would likely give your doctor an idea about the likely cause.
