ETD, OM or wax: You may have an underlying otitis media. The only way to accurately diagnose this is through a physical exam. Another possibility could be a wax impaction.

See : These symptoms can all be see as one recovers from a an upper respiratory infection such as a a "sinus cold". An infection in the left ear should be considered especially if worsening and pain. The lymph node should be evaluated by a doctor if it does not subside as symptoms continue to improve. If tender, less worrisome.
