Mechanical change.: Because of the nature of the surgery and it's designed alteration of the foot's normal function, the muscles and connective tissues in the arch area can be affected. The localized inflammation of newly stressed tissues can have an effect on the nerves passing through the area. This may take some time to resolve. To remove all doubt, contact your surgeon and see if therapy is warranted.
