TMJ: Your temporomandibular joint is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull, which are in front of each ear. It lets you move your jaw up and down and side to side, so you can talk, chew, and yawn. http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/guide/temporomandibular-disorders-tmd#1

Tmj clicking: Chewing gum and eating hard foods causes tmj. Any time the jaw and disc apparatus have inflammation. You will get the clicking and the pain. Try using Motrin 600-800 mgs for one month and see how you do. Put warm and cold compresses on the areas that hurt and this will help Good luck and feel better!

TMJ noises: Clicking and popping of the TMJoint is a reflection of the dysfunction of normal movement within the TMJoint. Normal jaw movements produce these sounds when something is wrong within the joint and in themselves do not cause the problem. See a dentist with extensive experience and training evaluating and treating TMDysfunction or run the risk of more serious problems over time.
