Muscle spasm: 21 y.o. with unilateral popping sensation in region of shoulder blade likely has spasm of levator scapulae muscle w. intermittent impingement of taut tendon of this muscle by superior scapula spine, which is shaped like guitar pick; as scapula rotates in coronal plane during shoulder rotation. I have named this sound the "levator snap".

Musculoskeletal: Popping and clicking in the area of the shoulder blade is not uncommon. Popping, clicking and tingling in the area of the shoulder blade may suggest some mild nerve irritation vs impingement in the setting of some joint laxity, mild musculoskeletal spasm in that area, or both.

Inflammation: You may have inflammation of this joint especially if you have had some form of injury in this joint. There are nerves that run through this joint that can be compressed causing the tingling
