Is it possible to have cough with streptococcal tonsillitis in children under 4? is a cough suppresent syrup recommended in such cases?

Yes: Although not typical of strep throat, coughs can be seen in a variety of situations. However, I would generally not recommend any cough medicines for young patients such as this. The antibiotics should take care of the strep, and increased fluids would be best for the cough.
