A member asked:

Is nebulization with ventolin during streptococcal tonsillitis and cough helflul in children around 4 for avoiding further chest complications?

Wouldn't: I wouldn't do this unless the kid had a tendency to wheeze with upper respiratory infections.

Is there asthma, too?: In a four-year-old, asthma can be triggered by almost any medical insult--especially when a cough is associated with the illness. So, if your child has a prior history of asthma or frequent wheezing, then there is certainly little harm to trying ventolin nebulizations as a means of preventing further chest complications. Also a doctor recommended inhaled corticosteroid may prove useful as well.
