HbA1c DM or not?: 51F: A1c 5.8 is this diabetic or prediabetic? ANS: ADA says A1C level ≥6.5 percent ( done 2 x) can be used to diagnose diabetes, &, identified 5.7 to 6.4 percent, confirmed with a repeat A1C measurement, as increased risk for developing diabetes. So repeat & check with your Dr who knows you best. Some conditions can lead to false test results.
