There have been: reports of alcohol triggering asthma attacks. The major offenders were wines, especially red wines...it is theorized that the sulfite preservatives in wine or histamines from bacteria/yeast produced when alcohol ferments may be the culprits. So it seems to be the type of alcohol drunk more than the amount. However, perhaps only 1/3 of asthmatics reports any adverse effects from drinking alcohol.
