Is there a correlation between alcohol and asthma?

Not directly: Some asthmatics are allergic to alcohol and drinking may exacerbate their asthma. Also, drinking is often done together with smoking - cigarettes and other substances, which is definitely bad for asthma! being under the influence may lower your threshold for avoiding triggers.

Possibly: Alcohol use can cause increase acid reflux which can trigger asthma flares and asthmatics are usually sensitive to some chemicals in wines and beers like sulfites which can worsen asthma. Also, some beers and wines have chemicals which are like histamine which can trigger asthma attacks as well.
