My four year old and i were in contact with some lambs at his preschool for a morning and it was then discovered they had tapeworm. should i do a precautionary worm treatment (we were in close contact with them) and what treatment is best?

No Treatment: Good question- I consulted with a local vet in NZ who deals with NZ sheep. Handwashing is the only thing required at this time. The tape worm lambs get (Taenia ovis) has rather low morbidity to humans and the risks of the treatments is probably greater than the chance of getting anything.

Tape worm: No harm in deworming . Talk to your GP. Usually a good start is with medications like mebendazole - Gp can do the script
